Stella Xanthakos

Attorney Xanthakos is a founding partner of Xanthakos & Malkovich. She has years of civil and criminal litigation experience and a passion for advocating for the underdog. The firm represents victims of discrimination, civil rights abuses, sexual abuse, medical malpractice, personal injuries, including vehicle accidents, and criminal defense. Her previous experience includes working as a Superior Court Assistant District Attorney prosecuting primarily cases of adult and child sexual assault. Prior to returning to Massachusetts, Attorney Xanthakos worked as the Chief Assistant Public Defender for Bay County, Michigan and for Legal Services of Eastern Michigan. She also worked on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee for Senator Kennedy in Washington, D.C., and as a victim/witness advocate in the Rape Unit for the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.

Attorney Xanthakos is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, a member of the Massachusetts Bar and Michigan Bar (Emeritus status), and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts in Massachusetts and Michigan. She teaches at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Attorney Xanthakos attended Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C. and the University of Massachusetts (B.A. English Literature, cum laude), and did some graduate work at Northeastern University.

Attorney Xanthakos was selected to Super Lawyers in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

She has performed in the Vagina Monologues, and has joined her friends' band on stage at Lilith Fair and the Great American Music Hall fulfilling her rock and roll dreams.

Michael Malkovich

Attorney Malkovich is a founding partner of Xanthakos & Malkovich, established in 1988 in Northampton, MA. The firm focuses on civil and criminal litigation, including discrimination, civil rights, representing victims of sexual abuse and sexual harassment, medical malpractice, products liability, personal injuries, including vehicle accidents, criminal defense, and murder appeals. Attorney Malkovich worked as a Managing Attorney in Legal Services programs in Michigan and New Hampshire from 1981 through 1985, handling cases for victims of domestic violence, child custody disputes, housing, unemployment, social security disability and public benefits.

Attorney Malkovich is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, Michigan Bar (Emeritus status) and New Hampshire Bar (Inactive), and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and the Eastern District of Michigan. He teaches at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Attorney Malkovich earned his Juris Doctor degree at Antioch School of Law (Currently the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law) in Washington, D.C. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with Honors and with Distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1978.
